- A thorough understanding of the legislative requirements of the State Library of Western Australia.

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Directing the activities of staff & volunteers while identifying potential training opportunities.
- Coordinating, developing, implementing & reviewing strategies, policies, work practices & procedures for both the library & the city's museum.
- Preparing annual budgets & monitoring expenses.
- Researching, preparing & presenting reports & discussion papers to the council & relevant committees as required.
- Representing the city in external bodies.
