Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Liase with Deakin Academic staff, schools & research centres & students.
  • Collaboration with liaison officers from other campuses, faculty managers & Deakin staff.
  • Coordinate & manage campus library provision of information services & facilities to ensure cost efficient work practices & procedures.
  • Manage & coordinate campus based mentoring, including recruitment, training & performance appraisal.
  • Initiate & maintain strategic liaison with academic staff, student & other division & community partners as appropriate to ensure library responsiveness to client needs.
  • Contribute to library's operational & action plans by highlighting areas that need improvement.
  • Develop collections in collaborations with academic & research staff & liaison teams to enhance the achievement of teaching, learning & research objectives of designated Faculties & Schools.
  • Work with members from other campuses to design, deliver & evaluate literacy programs to meet undergraduate & postgraduate students's need to enhance cloud & campus learning experience.
  • Provide expert information assistance & faculty outreach to Deakin outreach community that reflects a customer service ethos, to maximise the use of library resources, services & facilities.
  • Adherence to university policies & ensuring that staff & students also adhere to university policies.

Required:
  • Understanding of web 2.0 technologies & their applications in university & academic libraries.
  • Knowledge of & experience using a variety of computer applications for the development of e-learning activities & materials.
  • Working With Children check.

Desired:
  • Liaison experience with an academic community.
